Before Moxie Events existed, our roots were planted firmly in the Pittsburgh wedding scene under the name PowerBomb Productions—a DJ company with big energy, big goals, and an even bigger love for music. Led by DJ AdamBomb alongside DJs like DJ Khris and a small, dedicated team, PowerBomb Productions set out to make a name for itself by creating unforgettable wedding experiences fueled by personality, preparation, and packed dance floors.
What started as a drive to “make it big” quickly became something deeper: a commitment to doing events the right way.
A few years into that journey, an unexpected opportunity presented itself—one that would define the future of the company.
A husband-and-wife team from Salt Lake City had built Moxie Photo Booth Rental as a way to support their family while the husband worked toward his physical therapy degree at the University of Pittsburgh. The business was personal, intentional, and growing—but when graduation came, so did a difficult decision. They needed to move back to Utah to be with their family.
They didn’t want to give up on their clients. They didn’t want to abandon what they had built. But they also couldn’t sacrifice their family.
That’s when AdamBomb stepped in and said, “We’ll take this business—and we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
What happened next was bigger than anyone expected.
Moxie Photo Booth didn’t just survive—it grew, expanded, and took off. What began as a side project alongside DJ services quickly became a major part of the business. The demand increased. The team expanded. The experiences evolved.
Five years later, in a full-circle moment, Moxie Events landed a gig in Salt Lake City—the very place where the original Moxie Photo Booth story began. That trip included a visit with the family who started it all, a reminder that this business was never just about equipment or bookings—it was about people, trust, and following through.

We had a joyous post wedding party. We wanted to make it a rocking dance party and DJ Johnny was up to the task and then some. He took my pre-formulated playlist and stuck with it with the exception of a few well placed songs for the younger crowd. The pacing and order of the songs was perfect. He provided exactly the right amount of commentary. Couldn’t be happier.
