For weddings, I love introducing the couple into the reception area for an epic grand entrance!

For a fun party dance floor opening, I’ll usually start with some 2000s hip-hop. For a fun wedding dance floor opening, I always enjoy spanning the decades, as there are likely people in attendance ranging in age. I’ll start with some 70s wedding classics, then build up decade by decade, getting to the current hits.

My go-to mix would be either pop-punk or millennial throwbacks.

It wouldn’t be a secret anymore if I told you, but for the purposes of this bio, I can at least reveal one. Oftentimes, when people leave the floor, it’s to take a break from already dancing for so long. For a wedding, sometimes the secret to bringing people back is playing a slow song so they can ease back into it and perhaps dance with their date or partner. Then right after the slow dance, I’ll get them with a banger or epic sing-along!

Weddings have been my number one since 2007. I love celebrating love! In addition to weddings, I really enjoy parties, charity and non-profit events, and any public address announcing. People say I have a pretty unique microphone voice!

The best way to personalize the experience is by asking the right questions to the client before the event. The client knows their guests the best. Some questions I ask would be: What kind of music do you and your guests enjoy? Do they want their DJ to be more in the background, super outgoing, or a healthy balance of both?

I provide each client with a customized agenda that we review together ahead of time so they have input in the flow of the event. I have 20+ years of experience, so I can offer my expertise in what works best and what they should consider avoiding.

I recently upgraded my lighting system, which can do a little bit of everything! Keeping the dance floor visually appealing makes the DJ experience that much better.

Photographers, event organizers, caterers, bartenders, and more are all part of the team that makes any event run smoothly. Teamwork makes the dream work! During my consultations that happen 30-60 days ahead of time, I make sure to gather the names and roles of the key players to make sure I know who to check with upon my arrival and review any important timelines for the event. For photographers at a wedding, for example, before I announce a special moment to happen, I ensure the photography team is in place to capture the moment because if they are not in place, then the moment never happens. I never want a special moment to be missed!
